class trip-day3

hey ppl!!! i'm back!..sorry for the super long delay..well, i.....erm...... was just too lazy to blog

so, it was sunday morning and pin jin decided to bring us to this morning market situated just a few streets away from our lodging..according to her, the market is only open on sundays....well, i have to say, this market is one of the most interesting markets i've been to....to begin with, it's super long and it has many branches from the main street...next, there are many varieties of nice stuffs available..for instance, there are handicrafts, ' I LOVE KOTA KINABALU' t-shirts, beach wears, handbags, food, and puppies!!..prices are all negotiable!!...the market is just so packed with tourists to the point that i find walking there a difficulty...i was most of the time being squeezed and the weather didn't at all help me feel better...so my advice is to wear a cap or hat when u wanna visit the market...rmb umbrellas are a BIG NONO!!! after satisfied with our shopping in the market, we walked to the jetty nearby for a boat ride to pulau manukan..i remember a random man approached pin jin as soon as we entered the jetty area and sort of talked her into taking his boat...he came up with lots of good bargains like cheaper tickets and shorter travelling time...it was scary k!! fortunately, pin jin was smart and brave enough to brush him off and we bought our tickets from the counter though they were more expensive..well, safety's first...so do not agree to unauthorised body(the man).

we took 2 speed boats to the island and the journey was about 15 minutes.. well, i really can't think of a better word to describe the ride other than the word 'bumpy'...funny as it may sound but it really felt like we were travelling on road with lots of humps...kelly and i purposely just allow our heads to move freely back and forth to show the others how bumpy we thought the ride was...hahah..anyways, along the way, i still managed to enjoy the nice view of the sea and some other small islands...

yasmin and chier yit..busy embracing the beauty of mother nature...haha

reaching pulau manukan....
our eyes were busy the moment we arrived at the island.. there were so many activities going on and plus, the island itself was a beauty! as u can see from the pics, the sea water was a nice soothing pale blue with many interesting fishes visible .....some of our classmates were able to identify and name the fishes...nerds!..hahah..

at one end of the jetty, we saw familes so called 'interacting' with the fishes..and if you go further down, you can see people snorkelling..

so then we walked from the jetty to the island....

along the way, we see this...

and we continued walking till find we found a suitable spot to put our stuffs..nice walkway rite?? i love the shady trees that flanked the walkway...

as usual la...we have sadun itching for a football..he just couldn't bear leaving the ball alone....mind you sadun...we were still busy hunting for a spot! hahaha

and finally.....

so after settling down, some of us signed up for some water sports... the guys went for all the water sports except one which they claimed to be the most extreme due to time constraint.. christine, nicole , yasmin and a few other went first for a sport if i'm not mistaken called "paragliding"? it's basically gliding on air to have a bird's eye view of the island...what was interesting was that, it was agreed that yasmin and shin yi (i think) to accompany christine and nicole as viewers for the paragliding...so it was surprising when we saw yas and shin yi came back drenched ....we asked what happenned and this was what they told us :
" something went wrong during paragliding and christine and nicole
fell straight into the sea..we got no choice ..so we quickly swam to
safe the both of them..."
i was shocked and so were the rest of the girls..the guys were busy building their sandcastle somewhere...the worst part was i've signed up for the banana boat ride and was seriously beginning to have second thoughts bout it..what more when i can't swim!!! aargh!!!...then just suddenly, someone broke the tension and told us that it was a lie to prank us..i was like....!@@$%^&*.... anyways, good one girls, you really had me fooled...haaha
then, it was time for banana boat ride....we travelled in a speedboat to the middle of the sea before they asked us to sit on the banana boat...we asked the guys to go first as we wanna see how it was being played...so when it was the girls' turn, we sort of strategised to ensure that we last longer on the boat before falling..and yea we did!!!! it was really fun..go try it the next time you go there...
after the banana boat ride, we decided to play beach volleyball..the guys bought 2 beach balls before coming..unfortunately, the balls weren't exactly appropriate..as in it deviated largely from the intented direction and kept falling into the sea..so we gave up and move on to more interesting activities...well one of them was definitely..photo session..and the other was...

SAND- FIGHTING!!!
the war between pm3 guys and girls....

attack!!!!

attack somemore!!!

restock!!!!....
hwan juet had a method of making huge and compact sandballs...they looked intimidating ..so there was once me and hwan juet came face to face..each holding our sandballs...edwin who happened to pass by laughed because according to him , mine was only the size of ciku and was not even solid....but still....
HWAN JUET RAN AWAY!!! hahhahahha (joking)

it was beginning to drizzle when we took the speedboat back to the jetty...and for the first time ever i could say that rain drops were painful...we had to crouch and hide our faces from being hit by the raindrops...haha..after reaching the jetty, we walked all the way back to our lodgings and got ourselves prepared for SEAFOOD DINNER!

this is the best seafood restaurant ever!!! i love it so much!! the settings and design was classy and the food was VERY VERY YUMMY!we had prawns, crabs, deer meat, vege, clams, chicken, fish and some others which i can't rmb...the prawns were really big and fresh while the crabs were so fleshy!!!this restaurant is a must visit spot if u come to kk..seriously!! well, it is here we met sonia for the first time since the beginning of class trip..

best friends forever!!!!

so after dinner we had a few plans....some wanted movies, some wanted to go to the bar, while the guys wanted to rush back to watch world cup....at the end, it was sonia, christine and sadun who went to the bar while the rest went back to our lodgings..it was almost 12 am when the three of them came back...all of us were tired, so we didn't talk much and before i knew, i was already asleep...
well ppl, do u seriously think this is it?????? do you think that the day just ended like that for us???
well think again.....something awaited .......
i have no idea what time it was when it happenned but it was definitely in the middle of the night when everybody was deep in their sleep when i heard this....TOK TOK TOK..TOK TOK TOK..TOK TOK TOK.. and it went on and on for about 5 mins...gosh..i was terrified!!!! i was hoping against hope that i was dreaming but then the pain i felt when i pinched myself told me that i wasn't...so i buried my head under the pillow and tried my very best to sleep..but i couldn't..i was too scared...there was absolutely no noise except for the knocking.... when i thought i was about to lose control, suddenly one of the girls said : what's tat making so much noise?..how can i tell you how relieved i was!!!! at least i knew i wasn't the only one experiencing that...then suddenly kelsey said : there's a patung knocking against the glass panel!!!......and my immediate response was to shut my eyes and bury my face into the pillow..after a while i asked kelly to accompany me...and the patung was still there...finally someone said that it must be the guys job..and kelsey the brave one step forward to open the door..eeeik,...i winced ......
and lo and behold..who was behind the door if it wasn't the guys....honestly, i was happy to know that it was the guys who were behind this and was about to drop back into my sleep when i heard edwin knocking and pleading us to open the door...the other girls didn't want to because kelsey saw the guys prepared a bucket of water and we thought they were trying to splash us with that...so the pleading went on for 30 mins before the guys retreated...well, their plan was actually to create some smoke effect in the girls' dorm with the water and some powder and to lastly present a cake to the girls as a sign of apology...hahha..i'm so sorry then that didn't happen...
all in all, i'm really glad the guys pranked us...it is definitely one of the events that i'll remember forever...i must say you guys did a really good job and u managed to scare me well of my skin! and come to think of it..it was actually FUN!...
