Heart Stopper

WARNING: This post has no relevance whatsoever to hot guys, as the title might suggest. Please proceed downwards with extreme caution.

It seems to have happened such a long time ago that the remaining fragments are but distant memories... just blurred snippets of the event clouded by the current non-demanding dailies; the holidays!

until... one fine afternoon; when it arrives in the form of a shocker named ghl, who nudges her poor unsuspecting friend(aka myself) with that drat nudge button on the msn application, and drops the bomb.

hUi Lu... omg..
hUi Lu... semester results are out
(*)Kelsey(*) WHAT!?

Yes people!! Exam results are out! Sorry for being such a spoiler, i know your vacations have been nothing but bliss so far...

anyways, I know you are excited/dying/scared/freaked out/adrenaline-pumped/feeling dead/suffocating etc etc

SO... what are you waiting for? Go go go check it out on the student portal!! But make sure you come back and finish reading the rest of the post yeahh...
its the "Academic Results" link below the blackboard 7 link(for the benefit of anyone who's as blind as myself)

Back already? So how are those grades looking? Are they flaunting your name like sparkly diamonds or are them creepers already entwining themselves around your neck? Whichever one it is, be thankful that we survived our very first college exams! That's quite a big feat so pat yourselves on the back! Just for fun, here's a recap of our nightmare week(at least that's how it was for me)

Mon, 8th June '09:
First day of exam, super-semangat-ed but a lil scared cos its Physics but never mind, just go in. Walks up the stage and starts fumbling with pencil case, gets scolded by the teacher 'next time get ready everything outside!!!' Sits down, looks around and wonders why there is a funny circuit on the board(is it for deco?) until is told that there's a correction. By the time the paper ends, feels like there is no hope left... Bangs head on table upon reaching home, but remembers just in time that any brain injury won't do the Bio paper any good...

Tue, 9th June '09:
Bio paper (pressure setting in, knowing that Ms Ko has high expectations) starts in the afternoon, the after-effect is marginally better than the physics effect... Wonders why there were no questions on the drug names *wasted so much time chanting azidothymidine mantras the past week* but is relieved that they didn't ask those questions, might have gotten the spellings wrong...

Wed, 10th June '09:
Double whammy... Chem AND Thinking Skills *sigh* oh well, might as well get it done with... As usual, time flies with those MCQs, with barely enough left to check the answers, unlike in high school... Realises that brain is only capable of churning out loads of nonsense(sorry Ms Rathi!!) onto the second paper... Thinking skills(only paper where we had a class to ourselves) with two very colour coordinated examiners in purple and black(coincidence or what?)... Finds the math MCQ questions rather amusing and enjoyable, but the writing paper just spoils the subject... and there are the numb fingers, cramped palm and aching wrist to deal with too..

Thur, 11th June '09:
Last day of exams!! Math papers kinda kill the excitement though, because exhaustion kicks in very soon... knowing that freedom and holidays wait around the corner with welcoming arms ain't enough to hype one up... it's like someone has just squeezed what little is left of the moisture in one's grey matter...

it was supposed to be a short recap but i couldn't help myself...

Anyhow, i hope the results don't affect you guys too drastically ok? Please take it in stride, because what matters is not the distance between your marks and the 100 or the grade's position in the alphabet. Ultimately, what matters is if you personally feel that you have done the examination to the best of your abilities. Ask yourself if you feel satisfied, because self-satisfaction is most important. Be at peace with yourself and try not to make comparisons. Enjoy the rest of the break; go rejuvenate at a spa, do some shopping, watch movies, play dota or whatever arcade stuff, because when we go back for semester 2, we have lots to do!

LOL... those of you who bothered to read till here, you are either bored and have nothing better to do, or very patient with me. Thank you for reading the self-righteous "advice" of this idealist. Looking forward to a fresh start with all of you, and here's to PM3!

P/S: This extremely long post just erased my guilt of not contributing to the blog for a long long time =D
